Soprano Madison Smith captivates audiences with her thrilling, golden-voiced interpretations of bel canto repertoire and mastery of both traditional and contemporary music. She is a versatile concert performer who made her debut at Davies Symphony Hall in Händel’s Messiah and has performed Carmina Burana under the baton of Grammy Award-winning conductor Vance George. A passionate advocate for new music, Madison spent two seasons with the acclaimed ensemble Volti, where her voice is featured on the album House of Voices. She has collaborated with prominent composers in the San Francisco area, including David Conte, Allen Shearer, and members of the John Adams Young Composers Consortium, premiering works that push creative boundaries.
Madison is the recipient of multiple honors, including awards from the Pacific Musical Society, the San Francisco Chapter of NATS, the national NATSAA competition, and the Henry and Maria Holt Scholarship Competition. She has worked closely with celebrated artists such as Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Barbara Bonney, Kent Nagano, and Karl Paulnack. She holds a Master’s degree in Voice from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor’s degree in Voice from The Boston Conservatory.
