After a few years of soul searching, MadSoprano is back.
Where have you been?
I know that the last time I sent an email update was entirely too long ago. Life was, well, life and things happened and stuff got in the way and I didn't know what to say so I decided I should just wait until the moment was right. I'm currently living in Sydney, Australia and I've been here (in total) for a little over two years now... but there's been a lot of big life changes over the last few years. Love lost, love found, death, marriage, moving around the world... Needless to say, it's been a rollercoaster few years!
Out with the old, in with the new
Since 2014 I've been focusing, primarily, on marketing and knowledge management (aka data wrangling). I've learned a whole lot, but wasn't really happy with where I was going - something was missing. Earlier this year, I started working with the fabulous Kristina Driskill and through some serious self-discovery things started to change. I realized that I want to use this incredibly powerful instrument to change the world. The idea for Lend A Voice was born: lending my voice to issues that matter to me. I've been kicking around the idea of creating classical music videos for a while, but realizing that I could create content that focuses on social and environmental issues suddenly felt "right". I'm currently at work on my inaugural music video project for ocean pollution and I can't wait to share it with you. As part of my website launch, I will be releasing a new recording for the video, exclusive creative content and behind-the-scenes updates. What's next?
I'm aiming to launch the new website in January so I'll be sending out an email update when it's live. Sign-up for my email list and you'll be the first to know. We're filming the video in early February so I'll probably have some fun updates once that's done and I can set a release date for the video itself. I'm sure there's going to be plenty to share, but I'll do my best to keep it to a minimum amount of harassing. If you want more immediate updates, social media is the way to go.
